“Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for He chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan.” (Ephesians 1:11)
In Christ, we all we have a destiny that unfolds according to God’s plan. God has planned your future and prepared for you a ‘good’ destiny. This is a place of fulfilment, of joy and happiness. God doesn’t have anything harmful in store for you - or for anyone in fact! He has only good things to give. “If you then, being carnal, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him?” (Matthew 7:11) “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning.”(James 1:17)
In Christ, nobody is destined for doom or disaster. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). However, some people may think otherwise. Here is a scripture which is often misunderstood: “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. Therefore if anyone purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work“ (2 Timothy 2: 20-21). The first part of this passage says there are vessels of honour and dishonour. Which means that some of us may be those vessels of dishonour.
