When the enemy comes in

Scriptural References

Isaiah 10:27 and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

God will raise a standard against the devil.

Isaiah 59:19 So [as the result of the Messiah's intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He (the Holy Spirit) will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. [Matthew 8:11; Luke 13:29.] – Amplified

God already has done, past tense, everything necessary to empower you His church to rise up through the cross, the blood and body of Christ Jesus.

It is time for us the church of the Living God to stand up and allow God to raise and show His standard, His life, His power, His love, His healing, His mercy, His deliverance and His compassion to the nations of the world today through us.

Joseph Cook (1800’s) “…The great need of the world is the Christianising of Christianity. We do, indeed, sorely need to get back to the Pentecostal experience with its subsequent holiness and power.”

When God raised His standard it became impossible for the enemy to continue his battle against us and win.
Through the anointing the impossible becomes possible

God has destined us from the beginning of time to walk the earth, manifesting his presence in the earth.

Ephesians 3:20 we see the power of God is at work within us, that power is the power of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:1-8 we see here in acts that after the Holy Ghost is come upon us we would receive power to be witnesses.

Luke 4:18, Acts 10:38 the spirit of the Lord came on Jesus and he moved in the power of God.

1 John 4:17 that is the same power that we can now operate in.

What happens when we raise God’s standard

Romans 15:13 this is what happens when Jesus raises the standard through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The standard was and still is today being enforced on the devil by the Spirit of the Lord.

It takes us to act in faith, speak in faith, and live by faith.

Acts 4:23-31 they prayed in one accord and proclaimed the lordship of God in everything.

Verse 29 they prayed “…behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.”

When we pray with this passion and unity of heart we will raise the standard of others through this same power and release those held under the power of the devil.

Then those who are sick, demon possessed, lame, blind, diseased etc will have the standard of the devil broken in their lives by the Spirit of the Lord and they will have the standard of the kingdom of God.

People who had the standard of their life raised

Mark 1:40-45 the leper asked for a change of standard in his life.

Mark 2:1-13 the man sick of the palsy wanted a change of standard in his life. His friends let him in through the roof.

Mark 3:1-5 the man with the withered hand wanted a change of standard.

Mark 5:1-13 the demoniac had a change of standard.

Mark 5:25-34 the woman with the issue of blood need a change in her life.

Mark 5:35-43 the ruler of the synagogue need a change of standard for his daughter.

Mark 9:14-25 the father of the son who was demon possessed needed a change of standard for his son.

Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartimaes needed a change of standard.

Luke 7:11-15 the mother with the dead son needed a change of standard for her son.

Luke 17:11-19 the ten lepers need a change of standard and got it.

One though got more he was made completely whole.

Do you need some change of standard in your life tonight!

Mark 6:1-5 Doubt kills what the Spirit of the Lord will do for you.

Colossians 2:11-15 Jesus triumphed over the evil one.

The anointing is – Go and do

We have the anointing within us!

Mark 16:15-20, Luke 4:18-19, Acts 1:8 and Acts 10:38 it anoints us to preach good news, to bring healing to the broken hearted, to bring deliverance to the captives, to bring sight to the blind and freedom to those who are crushed.

Joel 2:28-29 (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) we begin to prophesy, to dream dreams, to see visions to have the gifts of the Spirit in operation.

Luke 7:22 Johns disciples came to Jesus and asked ‘ARE YOU THE ONE’.

Jesus answer was simple “…the blind will see, the lame will walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised and those who are poor are told how to come out of poverty.”

What other proof does anyone need of the power of God?

The anointing is – burden removing – yoke destroying power

Isaiah 10:27 tells us it is the anointing which destroys the yoke.

Zechariah 4:6 the anointing is a Divine enablement for us to accomplish God’s purposes on earth.

God’s work can only be done by His Spirit and cannot be done through human might and power.

1 Corinthians 3:9 we are co-labourers with Him and His Spirit works in us and through us by anointing us.

1 Corinthians 3:16 and 6:19 never forget you are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:28-39 the anointing has a two-fold purpose.

Firstly the anointing works in us by teaching us God’s ways conforming us to His likeness.

Secondly it works through us by giving supernatural ability to do God’s work (witnessing, preaching, teaching, laying hands on the sick etc).

Luke 4:18 He hath anointed me – we have been designed and set apart for this very purpose; our purpose among men is to proclaim glad tidings to the poor, etc.

Acts 10:38 many in the church today don’t realise they stand in the anointing today nor do they realise the power of that anointing.

There are two things Jesus had;

The Holy Ghost.

The power of God or a readiness to act along with the ability to act.

The Holy Ghost brings the power of God and enables us by always working together with us to bring about God’s desire in the earth; that all may know Him by experience.

Romans 15:29 “…I am certain when I come to you I shall come filled with the presence, power, agency and riches of the benefits of the gospel of the anointed One and His anointing.”

Paul was going to come to them “…filled with the presence, power, agency and riches of the benefits of the gospel of the Anointed one and His Anointing…”

Wherever Paul went he wanted to show the fullness of the gospel that is seen in the Holy Ghost (the utterance gifts) and power (the power gifts) or the anointing.

Romans 15:13 remember the power of the Holy Ghost brings hope, joy and peace in believing and you begin to abound in hope.

When anyone is touched by the anointing their lives are changed forever.

They taste and see that the Lord is good and hope is birthed and renewed, joy comes bringing with it peace and faith begins to flow.

The anointing is – Our reality

Ephesians 3:20 “…Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].” (Amplified)

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 the idea is that the anointing will create a reaction of awe and amazement at the supernatural and men’s hope and faith is turned toward God.

It is not the case that the anointing is something so deep and unattainable that only great ministers and prophets can operate in it.

The anointing is for every child of God.

The anointing equips you for everyday life; what we need is an understanding of the anointing so that we begin to live in the anointing.
