Destiny Partners

Over the past couple of weeks, we have talked extensively on the subject of Divine Destiny. One of the keys to fulfilling your destiny is “partnering”. God has placed destiny partners around each of you - people whom He has appointed and equipped to assist you down a predestined path. In order to accurately follow God’s blueprint for your life, you must be connected to your destiny partners – those men and women chosen by God before the foundation of the earth to help you in your assignments in the course of destiny. Such “partners” consistently encourage and inspire you, no matter what the circumstances, with unwavering collaboration and enthusiasm.
However, to fully appreciate this, you must first understand the Law of Separation in the context of destiny. Throughout the Bible, the word “separation” is intertwined with the destiny of an individual. A committed believer who has the fortitude to fulfil his destiny will probably go through various stages of “separation”. Therefore, if you’re going to fulfil your God-given destiny the Law of Separation must take its full course in your life. There is a direct connection between separation and the path that leads to destiny fulfilment. Look at the life of Joseph; he was ‘separated’ from his brothers in order to accomplish God’s plan and purpose (Genesis 46). However, the call for separation doesn’t imply or denote a life of isolation. Rather, it involves a decisive disengagement from destiny ‘vandals’. In other words, you must make every effort to detach yourself from people who distract you (those who the enemy uses to highjack your destiny). But at the same time, you must remember to stay fully connected to your “destiny partners”.
For you to walk in your Divine Design you need to ensure that the Law of Separation is actively at work in every endeavour. With regards your destiny, the need to separate yourself from whatever is not adding real value cannot be overemphasised. Separation is critical to destiny fulfilment. Therefore, if you won’t allow the Law of Separation to work in your life, you cannot attain the fullness of God’s plan and purpose for you. Anyone who allows God to take them through the process of “separation” will reach their final goal (divine destination) at the exact time that God has prearranged for them.
Remember, it is not enough to discover your destiny; you must know the “how”, the “when”, the “where”, and more importantly the “with whom”. No one who has a great destiny can fulfil it on their own. If your destiny can be fulfilled by you alone, then it’s not a great destiny! For this reason, God has given to each one of us, men and women (divinely appointed) with whom we can connect during specific seasons in our lives - in order to fulfil our destiny. Your destiny is locked up in them, and their destinies are locked up in you! Therefore, you must learn “how” to become connected to the key people who are part of your destiny and know “how” to recognise such people.
“…Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth clung to her… she was determined to go with her… As it turned out, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz… so Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife…” – Ruth 1:14, 18; 2:3. The difference between Orpah and Ruth is that Orpah was not certain that she should embark on an unpredictable journey with her mother-in-law, while Ruth was convinced that she was “divinely joined” to her mother-in-law. Having demonstrated such unwavering conviction, Ruth was divinely connected to the man whom God had set aside for her. It was not a coincidence or an random occurrence; rather, God’s predetermined plan to bring Ruth and Boaz together as destiny partners. Note, it was God who ordered Boaz’s steps to come to the field on that first day when he met with Ruth. It is neither by fluke nor luck that they met each other! Luck has no part in God’s predetermined plans for His people.
As Christians, we must accept that there is no such thing as coincidence when it comes to our destiny in God. If you really believe that your life is in God’s hands, if you believe that your steps are ordered by God, and if you believe that it is God who determines your day-to-day activities on this earth; then you must also believe that God is able to sovereignly connect you to your destiny partners (destiny collaborators). There is nothing about you that is hidden from God. He knew you even while you were being formed in your mother’s womb. And He also knows the very people you’ll need to help you accomplish your God-ordained plans and purposes. Remember, He rules and reigns in all the affairs of men!
Apart from the fact that you believe God will connect you with the people He has predestined together with you, “how” you get to know or recognise these people is key? One of the ways to recognise your destiny partners is that they are men and women who desire to contribute meaningfully in whatever shape or form without any ulterior motive. Destiny partners are those around you who genuinely long for your progress and success, and who have sufficient drive to propel you toward your God-given purposes.
Your destiny partners are there to help you (1 Chronicles 12:1, 8, 16-19). Without them you will lack personal fulfilment, and as a result, rob yourself of the peace and joy that comes from making your dreams a reality. What’s more, a divine connection is not being connected to just anybody; it is being connected to those whose hearts are joined with yours. To be joined together in this manner is to actively “partake” in one another’s destinies. You cannot say you are partners in destiny with someone if you are not willing to take part in that person’s assignments – 2 Kings 10:15-17. What has always amazed me is how God prepares a person’s heart, even before you meet, in order for agreement to take place. It’s as if your dream is already alive in that person’s heart!
Another way you will recognise those who are partners with you in destiny is in times of adversity. Men and women of God (appointed by God) always show up to give you strength in times of trouble. Such people will stay with you during hard times, even when other people reject or ostracise you. Your destiny partners will stand shoulder to shoulder with you when you are under attack. No amount of adversity will isolate your destiny partners from you. When you choose to live a life of separation from destiny vandals, you will also need to live a life of divine connection with destiny catalysts or collaborators.
May the Lord be gracious and make your destiny partners clearly visible. Even if you’ve been neglectful, God can still reconnect you – Deuteronomy 33:7. Your destiny is in His hands! |
