When you arise, God is aroused
Isaiah 60:1-2
God is saying in the midst of calamity and darkness there is a generation who are arising.
• Arise means to get to a higher level of living -so that God can release his glory in and through you. • Glory means all of God’s best (Exodus 33) • All of God’s best is in you • All of God’s best will be seen on you • All of God’s best can be released through you. • God is committed to [put in] and [pour out] all of Himself to a generation who ARISE.
In other words –when you arise God is aroused on your behalf.
God is powerful when He’s at rest but watch out when He’s aroused.
What does it man to ARISE?
You arise to the light that has been deposited in you (Isaiah 60:1). Just obey the things God has already deposited in you. There is so much of God’s light (Word, faith etc), already in you. There’s things He wants you to do with what you’ve been given.
Psalm 102 gives some insight into this.
Psalm 102:13-14
You will arise and have mercy on Zion (CHURCH/KINGDOM); For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And show favor to her dust.
Picture – of God Arising
• Something has aroused God • He stands up –ready for action to FAVOUR you.
It’s Time for His Favor to be released
• Something is stirring God on your behalf. • What can it be that gets His attention. • What can it be that gets His action.
1. When YOU take pleasure in her stones
• Stones build the temple (work) of God. • God is aroused into action when we live to build the kingdom. • When men & women are arise to build the church –God is aroused to bless and favour them.
• Nothing seems to get the attention and action of God as much as the heart that takes pleasure in His work.
2. When YOU favour to her dust
God is aroused into action when God’s people take pleasure in doing small things for the church.
• Dust alludes to the smallest seemingly insignificant attention we give to God’s work. • God gives us small (dusty things) to do to see how we handle big things. • We get ‘dust’ to work with before He gives us ‘diamonds’.
Some of the humblest seemingly insignificant people in the kingdom are hidden by the ‘dust of humility’.
• They have doing seemingly insignificant work that is arousing God.
The Results of all of this is:
a) Psalms 102:15-16
The nations will be affected when God is aroused. When the local church arises we stir God to do something in the community.
b) Psalms 102:18
When we build the church today, God will build it through our children tomorrow.
c) Psalms 102:19-21
When we build the church God starts to deliver the prisoners. |
