Faith in Him
Ephesians 3:12, “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.” What is the principle revealed in this verse? In Christ we have boldness and access to God’s eternal purpose (plan, intention), with confidence through faith in Him. But what is God’s eternal purpose? Verses 10 and 11 declare, “To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose with which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The eternal purpose of God is to display the church (you and me) before all evil powers as His mighty instrument by which He can dispense throughout the earth what He has already accomplished in Christ Jesus (that is, through His death, resurrection and accession). In other words, God wants to taunt the devil with the victories secured by Christ's death, resurrection and accession. And His intends to do this through His church!
Therefore, every promise of God is now a reality and every victory is ours. We’re more that conquerors through Christ who loved us enough to die for us. But His sacrifice secured prosperity in all areas of life. We are now whole and complete - spirit, soul and body - through faith in Him.
“In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.” Quite simply, what ever God has promised is yours! But you must have the boldness to go into the “throne room of grace” and confidently receive your inheritance - through faith in Christ.
When it comes to the promise of divine health (and healing), it will be your faith in Him that manifests God’s power and brings about restoration. It was the same when Jesus walked the earth and ministered to the sick. He often turned to the person who had just received their healing and said, “Your faith has healed you.” Implying, “Through faith in Me you have received your healing.”
1. Matthew 9:22
Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that moment.
(Matthew 9:21-23)
2. Matthew 15:28
Then Jesus answered, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
(Matthew 15:27-29)
3. Mark 5:34
He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
(Mark 5:33-35)
4. Mark 10:52
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
(Mark 10:51-52)
5. Luke 8:48
Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
(Luke 8:47-49)
6. Luke 18:42
Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”
(Luke 18:41-43)
Note, it’s only (with confidence) through faith in Him that we can receive any promise of God. |
