How to have a strong spiritual Life
The first set of three elements for a strong spiritual life
1 Corinthians 13:13 tells us that there are three things which abide or continue to be present with us.
Faith – Faith in God – means faith or belief. It speaks of faith in the gospel of truth. Faith fixes on the Divine revelation, and agrees to it, relying on the Divine Redeemer.
Hebrews 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for.
Hebrews 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please God.
Hope – The hope of salvation – means confident expectation. It speaks of the experience of the hope of salvation through Christ, eternal life, and blessedness. Hope fastens on future happiness, and waits for it.
Hebrews 6:19 we have hope in God as an anchor of the soul; hope gives you the very thing needed to stabilise your life.
Without hope, you will flounder in life as the world does going from one thing to another never finding real peace.
Charity – Christian love – means love. It is a love that reached out to those who did not deserve it; a love that put the interest of others first; a love that forgave people and started over with them; and a love that sacrificed itself for others.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13 the love chapter.
Romans 5:5 the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts.
1 John 4:7-8 the proof that you are born of God is seen in your acts of love.
1 John 4:16 God is love and that love of God is shed abroad in our hearts.
The second set of three elements for a strong spiritual life
Romans 14:17 tells us that there are three things, which distinguish the kingdom of God.
Righteousness – Right standing with God – it is the ability to stand before Father God without fear, guilt or inferiority because of sin it is as if sin never existed.
Romans 5:21 grace reigns through the work of Jesus on the cross. That grace carries within it righteousness.
Peace – Harmony with God – means the absence of confusion, which is evident in the world. The assurance of salvation brings a tranquil state of mind.
Romans 5:13 joy and peace in believing, abounding in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Joy in the Holy Ghost – Gladness in the Holy Ghost – means the great joy imparted by the Holy Ghost and His presence or influence.
Galatians 5:22 tells us that the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
The fruit of the Spirit are the results of living in the Spirit.
When we look at the above we can see clearly that;
Faith brings Righteousness
Hope brings Peace
Charity brings joy in the Holy Ghost. |
