Strong faith the faith of God
God and His Word cannot be separated
John 1:1-14 God’s word is beyond reproach and full of integrity.
Webster’s dictionary describes integrity as; The quality or state of being complete; wholeness; entireness; unbroken state. The entire unimpaired state or quality of anything; perfect condition – soundness. The quality or state of being of sound moral principle – uprightness, honesty, and sincerity.
Encarta’s dictionary describes integrity as; The possession of firm principles - the quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles or professional standards.
The Hebrew dictionary lists two words for integrity – completeness, fullness, innocence, simplicity and uprightness. Just as God’s nature never changes neither does His Word. God’s word is His bond.
Psalm 119:89 Gods word is forever settled.
Psalm 89:2 God’s faithfulness is established in the heavens.
Matthew 24:34-35 God’s word is so settled that heaven and earth will pass away before the Word of God will fail.
1 Peter 1:25 the Word of God endures forever.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever.
The reality of Gods Word
Matthew 12:37 man is justified or condemned by the words he speaks.
Proverbs 18:21 – Deuteronomy 30:15 – Proverbs 14:3 we must be aware of the things we say, as they contain the power to produce in our lives. Words can activate God’s forces (Words of Faith). Words can activate the devils forces (Words of Fear)
Romans 10:8-10, 13-14, 17 the Word of God is near you in fact it is so close it is in your mouth.
God has provided a way for every man woman and child to have faith and see that faith come to completion. If we blame God for our lack of faith or we say that we cannot get God to do anything for us even though we have operated in faith we show our ignorance of what the Word of God has to say about faith and its operation. It is never Gods fault when faith does not work it is our fault.
Hebrews 11:6 we find that without faith it is impossible to please God. Without faith in God, you cannot prove that He truly is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Without faith, you cannot show the world that God truly loves them and wants them healed and blessed. God the father has placed within our hands (the Word of God) and within our mouths the means and the responsibility for whether or not we operate in faith in this lifetime. If He said we could have faith and then did not give us the ability to have faith then we could challenge His justice.
1 Corinthians 16:13 we need to be strong in faith not weak in faith and our father has told us how to do it.
The strong in faith understand the reality of Gods Word and go about to put faith in God to work in order to obtain the promises of God. The weak[1] in faith complain that the Word of God does not work and how tuff life seems to be. Jesus spoke to His disciples about weak faith.
Matthew 6:30 Jesus spoke to the disciples about the fact that God clothes the lilies so why not them.
Matthew 8:26 here the disciples had little faith because they feared a storm.
Matthew 14:31 Peter had little faith because he began to fear the wind and water.
Mathew 16:8 the disciples had not brought any bread with them and had forgotten that Jesus fed 5,000 men with just a few loaves. This was little faith to fear in this manner.
Ephesians 6:10 tells us to “…be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.”
The strong in faith understand the reality of Gods Word and they go about to put faith in God to work in order to obtain the promises of God. Be Strong – be endued with strength, receive strength, and increase in strength. Too many Christians are weak and live in inadequacy and bounce around defeated because they do not operate in faith.
Abraham had strong faith
We need to be strong in faith to be strong in the Lord.
Romans 4:17-21 Abraham is noted in Scripture as one who was strong in faith. Faith is the key in this Scripture and it needs to be the key in our lives.
Romans 4:18 The foundation of Abraham's faith was hope; that God would perform (not that he could or that he might) what He had spoken.
Romans 4:19 Abraham was not weak in faith. Weak – To be feeble minded, faint hearted, timid, to doubt, hesitate and vacillate.
Romans 4:20 Abraham did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief.
James 1:7-8 we cannot vacillate between believing and not believing.
Abraham did not vacillate between belief and unbelief on this subject; he was able to receive the promise. Abraham was strong in faith as he continually gave glory to God! Strong faith overcomes the obstacles that we face.
In Romans 12:3, we read that God gives faith at the new birth. The Measure of faith – the required measure or extent, the portion measured off the measure or limit. How do we get strong in faith? By the exercise of our faith in God. This is not a different level of faith for every man it is the measure of faith. Paul warns us though that we should be careful in our assessment of that measure of faith we have. When a baby is born it is a human being just the same as everyone else, however, that baby is not strong because it needs to grow up.
Mark 9:23 tells us that if we can believe all things are possible. We have to believe not just have knowledge of or about the Word of God for our faith to grow and become a strong faith. The Word of God has to get into our spirit so that faith can grow up. The Word of God has to be a living reality in our hearts determining what our minds think.
The Word of God is living
Hebrews 4:12-16 when you have put the Word of God into your spirit, it will accomplish that which you desire.
The Word of God is: Alive and active; Quick[3] – to live, be among the living (not lifeless, not dead), active. It is not inert, and powerless. It has a “living” power, and is energetic and active. It is “adapted” to produce this effect.
The Word of God is true, God honours His word, and His word will do exactly what it has been sent to do.
Capable of doing - Powerful – active engaged in work, capable of doing, powerful, effective. This term seems used almost exclusively as medical a term referring to medical treatment and the influence of medicine. Hence, the word is medicine. It penetrates into the place required Piercing – to go through, penetrate, pierce It divides all the areas of life Divides – a division, partition, distribution (of various kinds), a separation, so far as to cleave asunder or separate. It causes a separation between – spirit, soul and body. It judges Discerner – relating to judging, fit for judging, skilled in judging; able to discern or decide, critical. Thoughts. Purposes of the heart.
The Word of God is alive and will go into the human spirit and cause the growth of faith. The Word of God will impart life to the hearer and it causes us to have life because of the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says the Word of God “…is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” so that we can be “…perfect and thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
Love God
John 14:21-24 when we have His commandments and keep them we love Him. Keepeth and keep – attending to carefully. It is spoken with the idea of doing this right here and now.
John 4:24 shows us that we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. We have to do the Word of God to show our love for Him 365 days a year 24 hours a day.
John 6:63 Jesus tells us that it is the Spirit, which gives life to the believer. Quickeneth – to make alive, to cause to live and to give life.
Jesus said the words He spoke are spirit so the words Jesus spoke are what make us alive. The Word of God causes new life or spiritual life to come to us if we will accept it, digest it and do it. Notice Jesus was very specific when he said the flesh profits you nothing but the Word of God brings spiritual life. His words are not intellectualism, they are not what we can feel with the senses, they are not even philosophical babble, they are spirit and they are life.
Strong faith comes from knowing in your spirit that the Word of God is spirit and it makes you alive. Eating the Word of God causes us to gain spiritual strength so that we are able to stand in faith.
There is freedom in the Word of God
John 8:31-32 if anyone just dabbles in the Word of God they will be weak faith. It is the same with a child, who plays with its food and two thirds of it, ends up on the floor. The Word of God sets us free from fear, inabilities, hang ups, weaknesses and anything else that would hold us in bondage. There is freedom from anything, which would hold you in bondage inside the Word of God because the Word of God is spirit and it can make you alive.
Exodus 15:26 tells us we do not have to be sick because of Jehovah Rapha the Lord our healer.
Psalm 107:20 says that He sent His word and His word healed them.
John 1:1-14 shows us that God sent His word and it dwelt among us.
Jesus is that word that was sent and if we look at this we will find that everywhere Jesus went people were healed, delivered and set free.
Exodus 23:25-26 God said that he would take sickness away from us.
Psalm 50:10 God does not want us poverty stricken and unable to survive.
Isaiah 1:19 says that if we are willing and obedient to the Word of God we will eat the fat of the land.
Luke 6:38 promises us that if we give men will give back to us pressed down and shaken together and running over. If our Father is that rich then everything he has belongs to me and is there for my use the same as it is for your use.
Genesis 13:5-13 Abraham and Lot were so rich their cattle and herds could dwell together on the same land because it could not sustain them all. Solomon was rich and because of what he did, the queen of Sheba came to court his favour and know his wisdom.
Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek the kingdom of God first and then all of the other things would be added to us.
Continue in the Word of God
Joshua 1:8 Joshua finds out what it will take to be prosperous and have good success. Keep the Word coming out of his mouth, Meditated in the word day and night, Observe and do according to that which is in the Word. God's formula for being prosperous and having good success: Look, Say, Hear, Do (James 1:22 Be a doer),
Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus never changes and so God the Father never changes. When you continue in the Word of God, you will see your life in all aspects prosperous and in good success.
John 1:1-14 told us who the Word was.
John 15:1-11 we are to abide in Jesus the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. We have to find the Word of God for ourselves and then choose to put it into our lives. Do not hope the Word of God is true; prove that it is real by continuing in it feeding your spirit man. If you want strong faith then dig into the Word of God and feed it is the food you need to grow strong in faith. |
