A prayer to be filled with the Holy Spirit
Heavenly Father, Jesus is my Lord, I am a believer, I am now your child, and You are my Father and I believe with all my heart that Your Word is true.
I read in Your Word that if I ask you to baptise me with the Holy Spirit I will receive the Holy Spirit, so in the name of Jesus Christ , my Lord, I ask You to baptise me with the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, baptise me in the Holy Spirit.
Because Your Word is true, I believe that I have now received and I thank You for filling me with the Holy Spirit. I believe that the Holy Spirit is present within me right now by faith.
I fully expect to speak with other tongues as You give me the utterance. Now, Holy Spirit, as I praise God my Father rise up within me and empower me to be a witness.
Now, begin to thank God and praise Him for filling you with the Holy Spirit.
As you do you thank God you will become aware that certain unknown words and syllables are rising up within your spirit, just speak them out by faith. Do not speak in English, allow yourself to speak those words that you know are in your spirit. Remember no one can speak two languages at the same time; it will be either your natural tongue or those coming out of your spirit. Just begin to speak the syllables that are on your lips. You are like a baby and you will begin by speaking baby-sounding words. It may be one word or you may have a flood. (Remember, you have to use your own voice. God will not force you to speak.)
From this moment on, you are a Spirit filled believer
John 14:16 “…And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter KJV), that He may abide with you forever.”
The Holy Spirit is your Comforter.
Comforter means;
-
Counsellor – to lead you into a deeper knowledge of the gospel truth
-
Helper – in the widest sense, a helper, succourer, aider, assistant
-
Intercessor – one who pleads another's cause with one
-
Advocate – one who pleads another's cause before a judge
-
Strengthener – give you divine strength needed to enable you
-
Standby – called to one's side, esp. called to one's aid
You can rely on Him to fulfil all these areas of ministry. God sent the Holy Spirit to teach you all things, to lead and guide you into all truth.
John 14:26 “…But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
John 16:12-13 “…I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
You are no longer alone. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter who will abide with you forever!
